Intro and question

Hey folks!  I am new to the register.  I am also new to Triumph ownership.  I picked up a 1978 Spitfire 1500 in July.  It was in great condition throughout (just a few leaks - expexted).  I am now in the middle of a performance upgrade including: 270 camshaft; flat pistons; shaved cylinder head; side draft Weber carburetor; performance exhaust manifold.  I hope to be done in a few weeks.

So - to the question(s).  Is this really the first forum post aside from the request for website input? (if so, website input would be to promote the forum).  I have a nearly new Weber downdraft carburetor kit from the rebuild that I would like to sell - thought this might be a great place to put it out there, but not sure if anyone is awae of the forum or if sale of parts is an approved forum activity.  Also - in the process of working on the leaks,  I discovered that a prior owner rearend accident resulted in them changing the differential out - unfortunately to an earlier model with the smaller output shafts.  I am now concerned that they will not be adequate for my power upgrades and am having difficulty sourcing parts to rebuild the differential with larger output shaafts and different pinion gear for lower rpms at 60 - 70 mph.  The only option I have come up with is to buy a complete rebuild from the UK and eat the core cost (and shipping expenses).  Any wisdom addressing this conundrum would be greatly appreciated.
